The past eighteen months have been among the most difficult ever for B&B Theatres and for the exhibition industry as a whole. The global pandemic has affected countless individuals, families, and companies, but few have been as dramatically impacted as the movie business.

MAIN STREET OF KANSAS CITY (MO): A century-old downtown Kansas City icon, this historic location has been bringing entertainment to Kansas City locals for generations. Originally a facility for stage productions, the theater has been remodeled and reimaged many times over, and B&B has plans to introduce a few new amenities but remain true to the building’s celebrated tradition. Reopening in Fall of 2021.
MORRISVILLE, NC –A beautiful 14-screen situated in a high-end commercial district, this theater marks the company’s first in the Tar Heel State. A turnkey acquisition, the facility is ready to reopen…but B&B still has exciting plans to further enhance the offerings with the addition of some exciting additional concepts. Theater will reopen in early May of 2021 with brief remodel closures coming later in the year.
MALL OF AMERICA (MN): A truly exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the 13-screen theater in the world-renowned Mall of America will soon be operated by family-owned B&B Theatres! Serving guests from around the world, this location is a critical part of the massive Bloomington commercial and entertainment establishment and will provide B&B not only the chance to bring movie magic to the state of Minnesota for the first time, but also work with Mall ownership and commercial partners on exciting partnerships and collaborative efforts. Reopening in Summer of 2021.
BLACKSBURG, VA – Acquired in 2020, B&B Theatres is excited to bring new and exciting amenities to this incredible 11-screen theater. The former IMAX will be converted to a B&B Theatres GRAND SCREEN, replete with heated, electric, leather reclining seats, DTS:X immersive digital surround sound, and awe-inspiring dive lighting.
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, WA – B&B Theatres will also be reopening and operating a beautiful 8-screen theater in Airway Heights, Washington in partnership with the Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority. The first B&B location in the state, the company hopes to open in late summer or early fall of 2021.
SEDALIA, MO – In June of 2021, B&B Theatres entered into a management deal with the owners of the 10-screen Galaxy cinema in Sedalia, Missouri, adding to the company’s extensive list of Midwest theater locations.
ATHENS, GEORGIA- B&B Theatres will assume operation of a 12-screen cineplex in Athens, marking the company's arrival in the state. Remodel plans are in the works.
DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA- A beautiful beachside 10-screen, this location represents B&B's sixth theater facility in Florida!WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – The fifth B&B Theatres location in the Sunshine State, Wesley Chapel The Grove 16 is situated in a beautiful development in the suburb north of Tampa. While the location was well-maintained and potently integrated into the community at the time of B&B’s arrival, the company still has exciting plans for the facility, so stay tuned!
WEST OLIVE, MO – A large 16-screen cinema located off Olive Boulevard in Creve Coeur, Missouri, the contract on this location has been announced only recently. This theater will mark the company’s fourth cinema facility in the Greater St. Louis area, with existing locations in Wentzville, Wildwood, and Festus, and B&B is hoping to begin remodeling efforts in the late-Fall of 2022.
Projects in current development:
RED OAK, TX – A project the scope of which has not been seen in B&B-land previously, the Red Oak, Texas theater was announced just recently in November of 2019. Set to feature 12 theaters, GRAND SCREENS, ScreenX, B-Roll bowling, an Outtakes redemption arcade, a full bar, and much more, this location will put B&B on the map in a major way in the Greater Dallas Metro. The company is projecting an opening date in the near future, so stay tuned for more details! You’re not going to want to miss this one!
Company History
B&B Theatres has been family owned and operated since 1924 when Elmer Bills Sr. opened a movie house in Salisbury, Missouri where the future Mrs. Bills played the piano for silent movies. During the company’s 97 years, and four generations of family involvement, it has seen the coming of sound, color, Technicolor, stadium seating, multiplexes, recliners and digital cinema. B&B continues to lead the industry in innovative and progressive cinema.
